Description

Steps to reproduce:

Add a link to a word: [[Author]]
Make it a section link: [[Author#Famous ones]]
Save the page.
See that the section part of the link was silently dropped: [[Author]].

I don't think this is T55219: VisualEditor: [Regression] Link inspector prevents insertion of section links, because the link inspector seems to work just fine:

This is reproducible in multiple browsers, OSes, and wikis.

Can you clarify what you do in that step?

Also, if possible, when you click save in VE and the "Save your changes" modal pop ups, can you execute copy(ve.init.target.docToSave.body.outerHTML) in your browser's JS console and paste the output. Helpful to see what Parsoid is getting. (Probably more useful if you do this in an isolated Sandbox then a full page, so there's less content.)
