Event Timeline

You have successfully created the mailing list wikimedia-us-ia and notification has been sent to the list owner l235@.. You can now:

Visit the list's info page https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimedia-us-ia
Visit the list's admin page https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/admin/wikimedia-us-ia

@Lixxx235 See above, the list has been created. And you should have received automatic mail with a password. Since i can only enter a single "initial list admin" in the creation form, can you please add the second admin and either reset the password or share it with him. There is only one admin password.
I did set the description field but feel free to change it (and everything else, all config options are default as of right now).

Thanks @Dzahn! Per the description, could you create wikimedia-us-ia-internal@lists.wikimedia.org as well?

@Lixxx235 Are you absolutely sure you need a second private list? Experience shows that almost everybody first thinks they should have 2 lists, one public and one private, but then those are not used consistenly in practice, content is split between 2 places, people wonder what they need to be allowed on the "private" list and what is discussed there that can't be public, you get subscription requests, people are unsure if their mail is going to be in archives or not (which can be set public/private separately) etc.

@Dzahn, I was intending to make Board business (voting and reports and such) easier replacing our current patchwork system, so I think a second list would be needed, but to avoid the confusion, perhaps "wikimedia-us-ia-board" would be better?

@Lixxx235 ok, fair :) here you go:

You have successfully created the mailing list wikimedia-us-ia-board and notification has been sent to the list owner l235@...

https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimedia-us-ia-board

https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/admin/wikimedia-us-ia-board

please add the second admin and set the list description field. feel free to make it private as in "subscribers need approval" and "archives only for list members", please just leave the mere existence of the list public, as in "listed on the listinfo page" per T124324

Dzahn claimed this task.
