Could you provide a test case link, and reasons why other globes are wanted?

I also think we should at some point support multiple globes. It would shift from the data-driven map generation to a mix of satellite imagery + data, where data will highlight the regions and POIs on top of the surface photographs. This would require some technology changes, as well as to figure out the reliable and open source imagery, preferably via a community driven process.

I don't exactly know what kind of "test case link" you expect.
If you look https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympus_Mons there is a MiniAtlas link next to the coordinates on the title line and in the infobox. If you click on this icon a "map" of Mars appears.

I intend to replace MiniAtlas by maplink on fr.wiki (if it is approved by the community) but this will be possible only for location on earth for now.

I agree that this is low priority task.
