- View Rock Steady (Aretha Franklin song) in the Wikipedia Beta app for Android. Or probably any page with a URL citation in square brackets.
- Tap the [4] citation link after "The song is cited as one of the first disco songs" to bring up the reference
Result: (Assuming no one's improved this citation's markup yet) all you see is an empty white panel with only the heading Reference [4]. Clicking anywhere in this panel does nothing.
Expected result:
The pop-up reference panel should at least show the URL, as a link.
Desktop Wikipedia shows just [[http://www.jahsonic.com/PreDisco.html |[4] ]] as a link, which isn't great either. I assume the parser renders a URL in single square brackets this way for historical reasons.
The page source shows the citation is written <ref>[http://www.jahsonic.com/PreDisco.html]</ref>. I think this is fairly common.
