Prototype gifs for newcomer guidance
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The Growth team has discussed whether animated gifs could be a good tool to quickly teach newcomers how to do a specific task, such as adding a wikilink. This task is about prototyping one or two gifs, and then displaying them on help pages. In the longer term, we may be able to use gifs in the help panel for guidance while doing newcomer tasks.

@Dyolf77_WMF -- here is a task about gifs. Please add updates here!

Starting with:

  • edit and save an article

@RHo -- @Dyolf77_WMF's gifs are now live on the help pages that we linked to in newcomer tasks via the "Learn more" link. I am putting this task your board as inspiration for your thinking about V1.2 (guidance).
