- Reasoning/explanation of purpose: This list is intended to allow Google, the Wikimedia Foundation, and members of the community working on COVID-19-related content to coordinate and communicate about COVID-19 statistics on Wikipedia, which Google is using in a COVID "stats card" feature. Google will share weekly insights on popular search queries and other data that may be of interest to the community in creating/maintaining COVID-related content, as well as continue to update the community about what pages and data it is surfacing in Google search.

The list has been created, with no initial subscribers: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/covid-19-stats List options are by default (including public listing and public archives), except subscription, which has been set as "requires approval" initially under privacy options. As administrators, you will be able to change further options.
Because the specificity of this list, I have not added it yet to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists/Overview but feel free to do it yourself for diffusion.
