List of steps to reproduce (step by step, including full links if applicable):
- Search for a given string using Special:SearchTranslations — for example, here's a search in Translatewiki.net for the string "Comunidade de tradução em código aberto"
- Click the link under one of the search results to edit the translation.
- Note the URL parameters that specify the message group (group=ext-twnmainpage), intended language (language=pt) and the specific message to translate: showMessage=twnmp-brand-motto.
- Select a different language in the "Translate to" language selection dropdown menu
What happens?:
The page updates to allow translating to the chosen language, and the URL changes accordingly (the value of the language parameter changes), but the showMessage URL parameter is removed, so the selected message is no longer the same, but instead all the messages of the group are shown, with the first message being selected.
What should have happened instead?:
The showMessage URL parameter should be preserved, as is already the case with the group parameter.
