Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

• Edit any page on romd.wikimedia.org in wikitext mode
• Add this incomplete link: [[Wikipedia:ciot|]]
• Preview the page - the link is correctly intepreted as a link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciot
• Switch to the visual editor - the link is incorrectly rendered as if wrapped with nowiki tags (e.g. you see the wikitext introduced)

This does not happen for full links, e.g. [[Wikipedia:ciot|ciot]]
