Special page at [[special:Redirect]] is confusingly misnamed.

Description

The special page at [[Special:Redirect]] allows users to look up pages by various ID numbers or names. So, if you know a page ID number is (for example) 5043734, you can go to that page by entering the number and smashing the button.

This has nothing to do with redirects, which involve, er, redirecting a user from one page they selected to another page which is usually synonymous. You know how those work -- they're a key feature.

To avoid confusion, I suggest it'd be best to rename [[special:redirect]] to something more appropriate, like [[special:LookUp]] and alias [[special:redirect]] to that.

The system messages at [[MediaWiki:Redirect]] and [[MediaWiki:Redirect-summary]] need changing as well, and renaming to avoid confusion might be a good idea. Suggest [[MediaWiki:Lookup]] and [[MediaWiki:Lookup-summary]].

I suggest the content of [[MediaWiki:Lookup]] should be Look up page by ID rather than mentioning the word redirect. The [[MediaWiki:Lookup-summary]] needs replacing with something that doesn't mention redirect as well.
