Pagination mode for Wikipedia Android App (for eink displays).
Open, Needs TriagePublicFeature

Description

Feature summary
When viewing an article in the Wikipedia android app, tap on the side of the screen or bottom of the screen to move to the next page, instead of scrolling the page with a finger.

Use case(s)
Android tablets with eink screens are becoming popular among enthusiasts. An android tablet with an eink screen seems like the perfect device for reading consuming Wikipedia articles. Due to how eink displays work, animations and transitions should be avoided. The fast-updating nature of scrolling a page up the screen causes flickering, smearing and blurring on an eink screen. The normal mitigation for this is to provide a "pagination" mode, where you can tap on the right-side or bottom-side of the page and it immediately moves a whole page length.

Benefits
Pagination mode provides a faster, clearer and cleaner reading experience for users of Android tablets with Eink displays, also reducing the number of screen refreshes by not scrolling the screen does increase the battery life of Android devices with eink displays.
