It probably shouldn't have happened—I can't think of a reason for them to appear in articles. The edit happens to be vandalism, and it was reverted because of other content problems. I don't know of a way to input these characters from mobile keyboards, so I guess that it's a bug in MobileFrontend or in the mobile browser that the editor used. Hope it's useful...
