Links inappropriately marked as dead on Finnish Wikipedia [fiwiki]
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Original report:

Hi, it was reported on the Finnish Wikipedia that the bot is marking links to hs.fi as dead when they actually aren't dead ([4]. Hs.fi just redirects to a page where you can buy the digi version of the newspaper and read the article, and those who have an account can open the original link without problems. So those should not be marked as dead. Stryn (talk) 05:51, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Event Timeline

Also note there is temporarily workaround in fiwiki by me using abusefilter to disallow hs.fi link edits by InternetArchiveBot.

AbuseFilter rule also blocks changing archive.org link edits which was another problematic edit mentioned in discussion but I am not sure if it is bug or harmless feature. However, there is rather many archive.org links used as references on purpose.

Actually this level of protection has been successfully broken. Chromium not needed here.
