Provide thumbnail of attached mock in task view
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

As a user, when I look at a task I want to be able to quickly determine whether there is a mock attached.

I attached a mock to @T100451, but the only indication is the appearance of the small title "Pholio mocks" and a link. That's easy to miss.

Suggested fix: include a thumbnail of the mock or a prominent mock icon (camera) at the top of the page, somewhere near the task description. Clicking the thumb/icon displays attached mock(s).

Not a thumb, but see the header of T100451 where it says

Invalid?

@Qgil thanks for pointing that out--I missed it... which actually supports my original point! So I've updated the task description, requesting a thumbnail or other strong visual indicator.

Please don't mark this task as invalid--it is indeed valid, even as originally written. If it is important that it be closed forever (rather just politely ignored, like most one-off feature requests), please decline the task. Thanks!

[edit: Scratch the below. I skimmed this task too quickly. It is a related feature, though.]

Note, this one seems to be on the way! :-) See:

To see a thumb, just mention the mock by it's "monogram" in the task description.

So if you do this: {M56}

It turns into this:

    I'd still say the current behavior is pretty sufficient:
    Mocks are listed (but not previewed) in a dedicated section below the task description.
    If there is a need to display a thumb, you could add a comment by explicitly using {M1234} markup.

    This is something that should be pursued upstream, I don't see wikimedia implementing this as a local hack. And honestly, I don't see upstream implementing it either any time soon.
