[Migrated] When maintenance templates immediately follow section header, change to section template
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

When a maintenance template immediately follows a section header, could AWB change it to the appropriate section template? For example:

  • change {{tlx|Advert}} to {{tlx|Advert|section}}
  • change {{tlx|BLP sources}} to {{tlx|BLP sources|section}}
  • change {{tlx|BLP unsourced}} to {{tlx|BLP unsourced|section}}
  • change {{tlx|Confusing}} to {{tlx|Confusing|section}}
  • change {{tlx|Copy edit}} to {{tlx|Copy edit|section}}
  • change {{tlx|No footnotes}} to {{tlx|No footnotes|section}}
  • change {{tlx|Refimprove}} to {{tlx|Refimprove section}}
  • change {{tlx|Unreferenced}} to {{tlx|Unreferenced section}}
  • change {{tlx|Wikify}} to {{tlx|Wikify|section}}

Any templates under section headers for "Notes", "References", or "External links" should not be changed. I would be happy to make a more comprehensive list if the developers express interest in implementing this. @GoingBatty 00:06, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Should this apply to templates within {{multiple issues}}? Why only to templates immediately following a header? Why not to notes/references? Thanks

Yes, this should apply to templates within {{multiple issues}} that have {{para|section|yes}}. Only templates following a header so that it doesn't change templates in the zeroth section that would apply to the entire article. Not to notes/references sections since these templates would apply to the whole article (especially No footnotes, Refimprove, and Unreferenced).

What about change {{Very long}} to {{Very long section}}
