As a direct user of ulsfo bandwidth, it would be helpful to identify when those links are having problems.
So for the record, I hopped on librenms just to check out who had accounts already.
Joel: You already have an account: jkrauska. So these users were imported over from observium, so you were likely imported from there? It also lists a user id which coincides with creation order, you were the 18th user added.
As such, I'd be prone to simply reset Joel's login and give him the new password (for him to login and change.)
I could handle this when I am in the office tomorrow (and thus just have him type in his new password). I'm working from home today (so if he wanted it today, then we'll have to securely transfer that info.)
I should have made it very clear: try to use your old observium login if you have it =]
I'm okay with this but since I'm guessing the timing with NANOG wasn't accidental: please treat data over there as confidential — in particular, do not share traffic figures with vendors (or attempt to negotiate deals) without our previous consent/approval.
tossing your way Robh since it sounds like a simple deal for local folk and you have a handle on it
@faidon of course. I have no intention of speaking on behalf of production or Ops and never present myself as such.
@faidon and to be further clear, I will treat the data as internally confidential. Although I disagree with that policy from a 'free open knowledge' perspective.
Chatted with Joel already, so indeed, I'll handle this with him @ the office on Friday.
It seems this isn't as easy as changing in the web GUI like I thought.
So he has a user, we could remove it and re-add and see if that lets us set the password, or we can investigate how to reset the password.
Delete and adding is done via System > Users > Add User OR Remove User.
The thing to try may be remove his user, then add it back. If he is sitting next to you when you add him back, he can type in his own password.
