@Volker_E, @aripstra and I were talking about creating prototypes on beta labs to get these two button heights tested on both mobile and desktop.
One of 36px with this spec and another of 44px high. What do you think?
@violetto What is the status of this ticket? Do you still need Design Research support? If so, is this high priority? Thanks!
Yes we still need design research support. Not high priority for now, just normal.
What we want to know about this button:
Are these buttons finger-friendly?
Do they feel uninviting, how?
The kind of support is knowing what kind of questions to ask to get the feedback that helps us move this forward. We wouldn't want to make users feel like they need to pay more attention to the buttons during this testing more than they usually do, unless if this button makes them feel differently, that, we'd like to know. But this is tricky, help needed here!
Just to round that up, @Nirzar and myself were sharing that once in an email thread:
Here's an MIT report which calculates the finger area to be 45-57px
http://touchlab.mit.edu/publications/2003_009.pdfResult of Google's research which says the target size should be 48px
https://www.google.com/design/spec/layout/metrics-keylines.html#metrics-keylines-touch-target-sizeApple's guideline (obviously based on a research) says 44px

Closing this because it's unclear whether this task is still owned or prioritized by a product team, and if button size testing is need in future, a new task can be opened with a larger scope.
