As soon as I have time to stand by and watch, I need to stop the pdns service on virt1000. That's the last thing there that i'm unsure about.

After that... maybe a reboot to make sure it's full unused.

There are still remnants in the puppet repo re: virt1000. (hiera, dhcp, openstack module) and dns.
