I wanted to search mediawiki.org for meeting minutes. Entering "minutes" in the search box gave me tons of irrelevant hits. I looked for a "title only" checkbox, but couldn't find one. Clicking on the Advanced tab brought up a couple dozen checkboxes, none of which were "title only". I can't even figure out what effect most of the buttons would have.
The answer, apparently, is to use the intitle: prefix in the search box. Ugh.
My T121496 has been merged into this task, so let me clarify my request here: the ability to search on titles of both articles and redirects together - thus picking up previous and alternative titles (eg latin or common names of plants, variant spellings of people or places, etc).
The existing "in title" does not search on redirects.
I do not see how this resolves my request, which was merged into this. What do I add to the "See also" of a disambiguation page, to provide a search for a word in article titles and redirect titles but not article content, as an expanded version of the "in title" template? I know nothing about "Extensions" or "Advanced Search", and searching for these on en.wiki sheds no light.
