Investigate wether NFS mounts are really necessary for HHVM project
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The HHVM project seems to be used for testing and as a build server, neither of which probably need NFS. Removing NFS mounts from the system increases reliability of the project, allowing SSH in when NFS is having issues.

@ori @Joe are there reasons to keep NFS shared homes and /data/project on the hhvm project, or can I disable them?

@yuvipanda there is exactly zero reason for that, but I guess some of us (me, ori, Tim, Moritz, I don't remember whoever else) have important data in our homes there.

Should we save those or are you going to copy that to one instance?

I can copy it off to any instance you would like before turning them off.

I removed them during the NFS outage, and they're all up now without NFS (both hhvm and hat-imagescalers). Recovered files can be found on labstore1002, and I can copy them over to an instance for you if you really want :)
