Discussion and contribution are disconnected. If we reduce the gap between discussing what to do and doing it, collaboration can become more effective.
Some example scenarios:
- A user proposes a specific improvement to a section of an article, after discussion, another user improves it, and finally it is applied to the article. (see T91137: RFC: Support a branching content history model).
- While editing a user wants to go through the action items discussed to improve an article.
Initial ideas
A video illustrates some ideas in this area (you can also check the prototype in which it is based, but only the very specific interaction shown in the video is supported).
- Working area. Provide shared editing spaces for users to improve, discuss and apply changes to content:
- Mixed views. Visually connect discussions to the editing view allowing to get different levels of detail depending on the task: (discussed at T89575: Associate non-body content such as annotations and talk to a location in the article)
