We came across Softaculous.com, a distributor of MW. They provide a mediawiki package: http://www.softaculous.com/apps/wikis/MediaWiki
We are hoping that they can provide some information regarding users of MediaWiki. We also want to see if we can work with them to improve MW on their distribution platform.

I did follow-up and their response was, "We will review this internally and check how we can handle this". I think this can be marked as resolved.
