Find out stats about the wikitech-ambassadors list
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

As a (stand-in) Product Manager for Community Tech, I would like to find out how effective the wikitech-ambassadors list is for communicating with as many different Wikimedia projects as possible.

Find out how many people are subscribed to the list and try to get a rough estimate of how many projects are actually represented on it (if possible).

@gpaumier: Could you provide the number of people subscribed to the wikitech-ambassadors mailing list?

@Johan: Could you send an email to the wikitech-ambassadors list explaining that the Community Tech team wants to survey the list and find out how many projects are represented. I've create a page on Meta for people to list themselves: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/Ambassadors/List

@gpaumier: Could you provide the number of people subscribed to the wikitech-ambassadors mailing list?

347 members total.

FYI, @Johan now also has the admin password for that list, if you want more details about the subscribers.

Email sent to tech ambassadors.

So, to summarize the results of this task:

  • The wikitech-ambassadors list has 347 subscribers
  • According to our survey of that list, there are 14 actual ambassadors(!) representing ~15 different projects
  • There are 421 subscribers to the Tech News newsletter

I suspect our survey results are not very accurate.
