This is the task for the setup and deployment for tungsten as the Wikimania 2015 video transcoding host.
At this time, we aren't certain how the video's will be delivered to WMF, but all past years have been via disk. (External or internal is fine, as we have external drive enclosures for the latter.)
- - mgmt dns entries created/updated (assumed done from before)
- - system bios and mgmt setup and tested (assumed done from before)
- - network switch setup (port description & vlan) (assumed done from before)
- - production dns entries created/updated (just hostname, no asset tag entry)
- - install-server module updated (dhcp and netboot/partitioning) (was still in there)
- - install OS - Jessie - DB partitioning layout (raid10)
- - accept/sign puppet/salt keys
- - service implementation
Service implementation may not include full puppetization, as this is a temp host. Once all videos have been transcoded and relocated to permanent storage, this host will be reclaimed.
Notes for why this is a stand alone server are in the initial request, T106112
