Steps to reproduce

1. Open https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Neil_P._Quinn-WMF/T106708?veaction=edit.
2. Try to select all three items on the page (the heading, the Commons template, and the list item), either with the mouse or using Shift + arrow
3. You can't. The selection will refuse to include things on both sides of the Commons template at once.

Verified in Firefox 41.0a2 on OS X and Chrome 46.
