Description

From DocJames:

We have these two amazing tools in English

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Medicine/Popular_pages

It would be excellent to have them working in all languages.

Data by WikiProject by month has the longest history and what I propose we do that.

We can use the EN categorization of articles by WikiProject and than use the Wikidata links to form corresponding lists in other languages.

Now that the Pageview API is launched, we'll assign this to the Reading team. Let us know if you need support. https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Analytics/AQS/Pageview_API

DannyH removed a project: Community-Tech.

What is expected from Language-Engineering here?

We are already localising one pageview app in translatewiki.net: https://github.com/MusikAnimal/pageviews

@Jdlrobson : Could you reply please? ^^

(Removing Language-Team as the last two comments remained unanswered.)

@Aklapper I'm not in a good position to triage this task, but have mostly cleared out #reading-admin.

I think we should archive #reading-admin to have less Phabricator clutter, but any suggestion on how to tag this task?

I don't know what's missing for "have them working in all languages" and where the source code of these tools is located and if these tools are already localizable or not. In general I'd say that this ticket is not particularly actionable so I'm going to close it. Anyone is welcome to provide/add way more technical background.
