Description

Hi all, passing the following request along from OTRS ticket 2015080610015645. Note I personally have no opinion on this. Thanks in advance

Good day,
Recently, we have noticed that Wikipedia has been switched over HTTPS
since June 12. According to RFC the referrer is not being passed from
HTTPS to HTTP, that is why we are loosing the statistics on our website
as well as other websites, I guess. As a workaround, I am suggesting for
you to add <meta name="referrer" content="origin"> that would enable us
intercept referrer properly.

I think that if we wanted to do this it would likely have to be in MediaWiki or an extension, rather than our config.
