Add "night mode" to iOS app
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

As title. Add a white-on-black view to the app, similar to Android, as opposed to the current black on white. This is a highly requested feature in the feedback I've seen.

@Mdann52 this is indeed a highly-requested feature, thanks for filing/transcribing the ticket! However, we manage our product backlog in a separate board, while tracking lower-level development progress here. Was there a link on a wiki which led you to this board? If so, I'd appreciate a link to the page so I can correct it.

Thanks!

Suggest we make this an action in the Reader view toolbar.

This is one of our top 3 most requested features. Unfortunately it is not a trivial thing to build given the way we mix native and web based content in the app, so it won't be in the 5.0.0 version.

However most of what users want from a night or invert mode is available at the OS level. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Invert Colors

Not the ideal solution but a stop-gap to get basic inverted reading NOW.
