Decommission tools-exec-catscan
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The host tools-exec-catscan hasn't been used to run jobs since at least March 13th, 2014, its purpose is not referenced in the System Administration Log or in Phabricator, so it and the corresponding catscan SGE queue should be decommissioned. If unexpectedly the host does show up in a script or something similar, jobs depending on its existence would be pending "forever" and thus easily be identified.

Plan of attack:

  • Delete the catscan queue,
  • delete the tools-exec-catscan execution host entry,
  • delete the host alias from host_aliases,
  • delete the tools-exec-catscan instance,
  • delete files in /var/lib/gridengine/etc referencing the host.
