Implement Wikimedia SUL in this Labs instance
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Demonstrating Wikimedia unified login in this instance would show one of the primary advantages of Phabricator versus the several tools we are using, most of which require own registration and user account.

Would it be possible to have someone assigned to this task?

According to @RobLa this is not as straightforward as I thought.

Is this about setting up a wiki with CentralAuth installed or integration with Phabricator? (Which I suspect requires some sort of OAuth)

This is about being able to use login.wikimedia.org as an OpenID provider into Phabricator (and only allowing that for account creation); depending on which versions of the protocol Phabricator uses and works with, this is either trivial configuration or requires a huge amount of work. :-)

There's the added complication of merging import-related accounts into these ones, but that's a task we've got ahead of ourselves anyway.

Closing as WONTFIX based on @csteipp's comment at http://fab.wmflabs.org/T40#36.

Basically, Wikimedia SUL for Phabricator implies a significant effort that we would consider for an official installation, not for this Labs instance. Let's continue the discussion at T40: Set up redirects from old bugzilla.wikimedia.org URLs.
