Description

To extend the basic suggestion capabilities (T106405) based on featured articles, we can integrate the algorithm defined and tested by the research team.
That will provide personalised recommendations based on factors such as previous edits by the user.

The basic algorithm will still be used as a fallback (i.e., when the advanced algorithm provides few results or no results at all).

Let me try to list some iterations on this

T112720 Link http://recommend.wmflabs.org from CX Suggestions as fallback is a quick starting point. But we need to know for which languages we can give it. See below item.
http://recommend.wmflabs.org/ has an API to list missing articles between languages http://recommend.wmflabs.org/api?s=en&t=ca The output format of that API is quite usable by our current suggestion dashboard.
- The above tool does not give suggestion for all languages. So we may either need to hardcode those languages or the recommend tool need to give a way to identify the language pairs known.
http://recommend.wmflabs.org/api?s=en&t=ca&article=Books takes an article argument as suggestion category. @Pginer-WMF recomends to provide preconfigured "Categories" in CX UI as input to this api(See T113257#1704820 )
Work with GapFinder, Article-Recommendation and @leila to fill the above suggestions for more language pairs.
Work towards personalized recommendation for the current translator(Personalized lists - My favorite translations - is getting ready at T111026
