I had stated this was tracked in phabricator on the ticket, and I could have sworn it was, but I cannot find the task.

So I'm making a new one, copying in text from the old rt ticket (from procurement queue).

So the setup with patch panels and MTP extension cords that we bought doesn't work.

Plugging in the long cross-row MTP fibers directly into the routers works. Taking that fiber out of the patch panel and connecting it with the MTP extension fiber somehow (wrong way round?) seems to work as well. But the patch panel (which is just mechanical support I believe?) doesn't allow the fibers to be hooked up that way.

Probably we need to buy different extension fibers that are cross-linked or something. For now we'll connect it temporarily so it works for setup, let's replace by a proper solution with this ticket.

That covers it, we'll need to figure out what kind of key'd panel to get to replace them. This sat for a long time in RT since its lower priority, and RT it is easy to ignore things.
