Thanks for taking this on @Spage! I think having a single new page which uses T112637 as a foundation would be great. If you know where to look, there's a very alpha pandoc adapter for Remarkup (used by Phab), which I'm guessing could be used to convert it to MediaWiki markup. At that point, pointing the rest of the URLs you list above to that new document would be ideal (summary style, not merely a buried link).

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Development_policy/Database might be a good location for this, but I don't have a strong opinion.

For now I added a new section https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Development_policy#Database_policy and will link to it from the DB pages. Thanks for the list and tips.

Hi there.

  • Are we ready to "recommend debugging settings that display [DB] warnings"? Or perhaps the default settings and/or MW-Vagrant settings have been changed

Perhaps this task is complete \o/

I think the documentation part of the RFC is covered. I am working with Release-Engineering-Team to push for changes on beta first, then we will enable warnings (totally or partially) to be logged somewhere (we have to be careful not to flood the current system). Those will be handled on separate tickets: T108255 / https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/198661/ ).
