Description:
When viewing revisions ("permanent links") of any page in a positive namespace
(or mainspace), the text of [[MediaWiki:Revision-info]] is displayed below the
site tagline, and above revision navigation tools. However, apparently people
visiting Wikipedia (or any wiki) would not easily see that a revision may not be
the current one, and thus may complain about problems such as vandalism when
linked to a content-degenerate revision. To facilitate getting information to
people not knowledgeable of page history, it would be useful to have an addition
MediaWiki page (MediaWiki:Revision-info-current, for example) that is displayed
in the place of MediaWiki:Revision-info for current revisions (such as those
displayed immediately after clicking "permanent link" in the toolbox).
The default content of MediaWiki:Revision-info-current, if it doesn't exist,
should probably be the same as either the default content of
MediaWiki:Revision-info, or the altered content of MediaWiki:Revision-info, if
it has been altered.
There has been 38 kilobytes of discussion on this already recently, so a
modification would be appreciated. It is possible with a javascript hack (see
talk page for Revision-info on en wiki), but having this built into the PHP
would be cleaner.
