Renaming an account doesn't move the Flow board on the user's talk page
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

User:Agamitsudo has a Flow board on his talk page since July.

A few days ago, his account was renamed as Benoît Prieur. His Flow board didn't move, and he has now a standard talk page.

( Note from Danny: To fix the immediate problem, I moved the extra wikitext page to an archive. Then I moved the Flow board from Discussion utilisateur:Agamitsudo to Discussion utilisateur:Benoît Prieur. The general problem still needs to get fixed. )

Was the user renamed using the Renameuser extension?

I think he went trough the normal process to have his account renamed. I'm asking.

From https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Renameuser

In case CentralAuth is installed, you'll get a warning if you try to rename a local user from an account attached to a global account or to a username reserved by a global account; a check box to rename anyway will be provided (this requires caution). At the moment, global account renames must be accomplished by local renames on all attached wikis, possibly followed by an account remerge.

@Legoktm: how does Special:GlobalRenameRequest work? Is there someone/something doing the local rename and remerge?

I have another case where the flow board was not moved when the user was renamed. Since the user wanted to "vanish" I will not write their username here publicly. But if anyone here could help moving their talk page to correct location, please contact me.

I've emailed you. Thanks.

Re: this bug, we should probably give the flow-create-board user-right to stewards, to prevent this problem in the future.

I agree. This should be confirmed by @jmatazzoni (and maybe @Catrope), though.

I just had the same problem: an steward renames an account, and the only page which has not been moved was the Flow board.

FYI Buggia is not a steward, but a global renamer. ;)
