[iOS Safari on Desktop] In the Web visual editor, the first press of Backspace fails to erase the last character of the link
Open, LowestPublic

Description

Safari on iOS 8.2 on an iPad, in landscape, with the reading list open on the left.

I go to fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/autocontrôle_boursier
I click modifier
I get the Web visual editor.
There is a link "société" and then a comma ","
I click just after the comma ","
I press Backspace.
The comma gets erased. Fine.
I press Backspace.

Expected result: The character "é" gets erased.

Observed result: No character gets erased.

I reproduce this bug easily, this one!

It would be nice to fix this bug.

Thank you.

I am not sure that this issue T115618 is a duplicate of the issue T69262.

In my issue:

  • In the general case, Backspace erases the char correctly.
  • On the last character of a link:
    • At the first press, Backspace fails to erase the char but gives the blue highlight and the link info.
    • At the second press, Backspace erases the char correctly.

I make this issue more precise and I reopen it. Feel free to mark it as dupl if it is really a duplicate of the other one.

Same behaviour with Firefox on Fedora.
I believed this behaviour was the expected behaviour. (but I agree it is not enjoyable.)
