regression: "Page link" notification appears for link added by the article creator
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

several users in hewiki report a regression: they receive "Page Link" notification (the notification one receives when someone adds internal link to page created by the notified user), when they themselves added the link.

this behavior is clearly distracting: one of the first thing many users do after creating a new article, is to add links to it from appropriate places, and receiving dozens of notifications telling them about something they did themselves, is not only superfluous, it's distracting.

REPRODUCTION INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. in "preferences => notification", make sure "Page Link" is selected.
  2. find an article in namespace 0 created by you
  3. (test edit) select random article; add link to the article you created
  4. roll back the test edit
  5. note that you get a notification for "new link was added for page X"

peace.
