https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/250462/ should help with this as OOUI forms indicate required fields with a "*". Though I don't expect most users to be familiar with this right now as it's a new style for MediaWiki even.

Yes, but the standard one is quite different from what OOUI does. Maybe there should be a tooltip when you hover over it. Also it's weird to have asterisks for all the fields in one form.

As developers of the extension, we are following the Wikimedia UI guidelines for required fields. If there is a problem with the end result, the problem should be solved in the guidelines (OOUI.js), not in our extension.
