Description

As a WMF sprint team, we would like an option to switch between showing a count of cards in a column and showing the total points in a column, without having to change whether or not something "Is Sprint"

Currently, some teams want to see how many cards are in a column (rather than total points), but still have visible points assigned to the card.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • The "counting" number at the top of a column can be set to either total card count or total point count
  • Points would still show on the cards themselves.
  • Execution is less cumbersome than editing a project and turning off "Is Sprint."

it seems that phabricator upstream has opted for points over task counts when the new global maniphest.points field is enabled. The sprint extension is no longer managing anything with the workboards, so this feature should be requested upstream.

This would be useful for Discovery-search and portal, since they don't do estimation. Probably maps too.

I'm thinking the description for this (and for the related T120042: Option to measure WIP limits based on card count instead of points, to more closely adhere to Kanban standards. should be updated to remove any reference to the sprint extension.

This appears to be implemented, as I can now see count and points at the top of columns. It looks like this on columns with no WIP limit

Example 3 cards, and a total of 8 points: 3|8

and like this with a WIP limiter of 10 in the same example: 3|8/11

WIP is still being limited on points instead of cards, but this is a great first step. :)

See T120042 for the WIP-limit-by-count request.

I'd suggest that this card is resolved.
