As a first time user I want copy that better explains the language features of the app
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The current copy is really unclear, "Pick your languages"... for what?

Copy ideas:
"Choose preferred language"
"Preferred search languages"
"Quick search languages"
"Preferred Wikipedia languages"

Alternative we add a "What does this do?" sub header (as on the "Whats New" onboarding slide) and a modal popup explaining. Something like this, but shorter/better:

"Your first choice language will be used as your search language, and articles will load in that language. Any additional lnaguages will be placed at the top of languguge choices, so you can easily swtich between them when searching or reading an article."

@JMinor

I like:

"Languages to search"

...with modal explanatory text:

"Wikipedia articles are often available in multiple languages. Choose the languages you would like to use when searching. You can change these later."

(it's implied that the articles you searched for can be read in respective search lang, we don't need to say so imo)

Thanks @Mhurd your versions make sense and are more succinct than mine.

Please implement as spec'ed in your comment.

@Nirzar @Mhurd @JMinor another suggestion: "How this works(...|?)" is strangely worded. As a user, I would ask "How does this work?" or "Tell more more (about this feature)."

The intent here seems to be: "tap this button to learn more about how this works," but neither an ellipsis, and especially not a question mark, convey this very well. Just my $0.02

Agreed. I like the ellipsis (indicates further info), but it is not localization friendly.

Let's try "Tell me more" for the popover.

Also agree with @Nirzar that the popover should use the normal title/message styling of alert views (currently full message is the title).
