The template "In title" searches for a word in titles of articles: it does not search titles of redirects. Redirects are often alternative spellings or variations of titles, or latin names for species where the article is at the common name. A link to "in title" is a useful addition to a disambiguation page, picking up all the partial title matches a reader might want.

It would be very useful if there was a way to search for a word in article titles or redirect titles, with a simple link which could be added to dab pages.

Background: There has been discussion about searching on species names (the second part of a latin binomial organism name). I have been upgrading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Latin_and_Greek_words_commonly_used_in_systematic_names as a target to which links being removed from dab pages can be pointed. I include a search on a term like "Acaule": this finds five articles, but it does not pick up the two articles which have a redirect from a latin name including the word (eg https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lepidophyllum_acaule&redirect=no).

A straightforward "Search" is less helpful as it picks up all the articles with the word, even if it is only included in a massive navbox such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Selachimorpha, or perhaps the name of the plant species an animal feeds on, drowning out the relevant hits.

There is information in those redirect titles - someone has consciously decided that this is a useful access point for finding the article - and it seems sad that there seems at present no way to use this information in an "in title" way. The ideal would be to have a parameter within "in title" to specify "Search also titles of redirects". Can anyone help?
