Consider this (fairly typical) situation:
- Student A decided to write a new article X and added the article to the course by clicking "Add article". The article X is rendered without a link because it does not exist yet.
- Student B decided to expand article Y and added the article to the course by clicking "Add article". The article Y is rendered with a link because it already exists.
- After student A creates article X, in the students table the article will continue to appear without a link (creating an impression the article hasn't been created).
- As a result, only pre-existing articles will be shown as clickable links in the students table on a course page, which makes no sense.
