Create Author namespace at sk.wikisource
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Dear friends,

after a request on sk.wikisource met no opposition and received one admin's support, I ask you to kindly add a new namespace named "Autor" to the project.

On cs.wikisource, the equivalent namespace Autor has an id = 100.

The related talk namespace should have a name "Diskusia k autorovi".

Thanks.

M. Langer / Okino

The request is at: https://sk.wikisource.org/wiki/Wikizdroje:Port%C3%A1l_komunity#Menn.C3.BD_priestor_Autor

There is no standard for Author ns in the Wikisources, though ns:102 has predominantly been used.

The id of NS is not important at all, I just added it for the comparison with the cs.ws, where this proposal was inspired from.

@Dereckson I have vague memories that there were some system tasks that needed to be undertaken due to namespace creations. OR would this all now be undertaken when author pages are migrated to that namespace?

Sure, I was commenting for whomever did the creation, not criticising. :-)

When we create or remove a namespace or alias, there could be a conflict between <namespace name>:<title> and pages named "<namespace name>:<title>" in NS_MAIN.

For example, if there is no WP alias and someone creates a WP:TI redirect, this will create a page "WP:TI" in namespace NS_MAIN. We need to run a script to update these pages' namespaces and titles.

The wiki doesn't currently contains page beginning by Autor;, so there is no need to run this script for this task.
