Add absolute count of clickthrough graph to portal dashboard, to complement the relative clickthrough graph
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

The clickthrough rate dashboard offers clickthrough rate as a percentage of total traffic. It would be really nice if an absolute clickthrough rate were also offered (either as another time series on the same axes, or as a separate graph, whichever is less confusing) so that we can get a sense of the absolute levels of traffic that are going through the portal.

We should discuss in the analysis planning meeting tomorrow whether this task and T125737 should be merged into a single task to add a "throughput" graph, which shows absolute traffic "in" to the portal and "out" of the portal.

Unfortunately, the eventlogging data we get for this is heavily sampled, and we're not comfortable extrapolating the heavily sampled data upwards to 100%. For now, it's not really possible to do this in a way that isn't misleading, so we're declining this.

In the long run, we'd like to change the sampling rate to something less intense, say 20%, or (ideally) get rid of sampling altogether, at which point this task can be revisited. There are no plans to do that for now, though.
