Hi there tech support team,

I've talked with the other administrators (cc'd) of the public mailing list inspire@lists.wikimedia.org, and we've decided that we would like to shut down this list. The campaign that it was set up to support has concluded, and any future campaigns will likely have different requirements and different branding (not "inspire").

What do we need to do to shut down/archive this list?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hey @Krenair, @Aklapper, anything I can do to help resolve this request?

Not sure if I have anything useful to add. It is in SRE so theroetically someone with ops rights should have read it by now. Some of those people do something called clinic duty which includes mailman requests, presumably including this one (although only creation/password resets are documented on the clinic duty wikitech page)

Cool. Thanks! I'll give it another week or two.

Hi Capt_Swing,

this is done. If an admin logs in they wil lsee "Emergency moderation of all list traffic is enabled" and nobody can post but the archives are in place. Nowadays we just run a script that changes all the settings. Additionally i removed all your email addresses from the list of admins so you don't get spam.

./disable_list inspire
inspire disabled. Archives should be available at current location, all mail should be moderated and the list should not be on the listinfo page.
