Description

This is a follow up to T125501.

VisualEditor doesn't actually work in the recently-created Adyghe Wikipedia (ady.wikipedia.org).

To reproduce, go to https://ady.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA and click Edit (ХэӀэзыхь). VE seems to be loading as usual, but when the progress bar reaches the end, all the text disappears.

My wild guess is that it's a missing Parsoid configuration, but it might be something else entirely.

A fix for this should be documented at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Add_a_wiki and https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Rename_a_wiki_domain .

Please correct the project tags if I wrote too much of them.

@Amire80, The fixes are already documented in https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Add_a_wiki under the Parsoid and RESTBase sections. @Arlolra pushed the parsoid side patch which I merged just now.

@mobrovac @GWicke this needs a RESTBase side config update too.

Thanks. Was this just skipped by mistake then? Not blaming or shaming anyone; I just care about new sites a lot, and about this one in particular—I have real-life friends who speak this language ;)

Ya, I don't know. I assume whoever added the new wiki didn't notice the process documented there.

Note that ady.wp.org is already alive for RESTBase: https://ady.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/?doc . Once Parsoid's site matrix update is live, things will start working, since:

This is probably my fault. I created the wiki and RESTBase was already set up correctly for it. I also documented the Parsoid requirement back in December, but forgot to apply it here: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Add_a_wiki&diff=242202&oldid=242201
