Consider alternative wording/improve positioning for "You have switched to source editing" pop-up
Open, MediumPublic8 Estimated Story Points

Description

Oliv0 at hu.wiki reports that he saw the pop-up while switching to WT, however, he didn't pay much attention to its location and dismissed it before reading the bit he needed to see, "You can switch back to visual editing at any time by clicking on this icon.", and hence was clueless as to how to switch editor later.
He therefore suggests that the message focuses on the potential action ("this is the icon you need to click to go back to VE"), rather than on the "status update".

If VE could show some kind of permanent notice for a week or so after single tabs are deployed (like an editnotice, but built-in), that would be very helpful. (Although I guess we can just add a normal editnotice.) People are prone to reflexively dismiss popups, and the VE <-> text switch buttons are hard to find.

Some kind of visual clue on the switch buttons would be another approach (but preferably not the small blue dot that VE uses for new features, as that itself is not very noticeable).

I think telling people they can go back is important, but understanding where the hell they just ended up is more important, especially for newbies who won't have heard of the concept of wikitext yet.

Or we could add a text label to the button.

Or we could add a text label to the button.

Using just "Switch" translates relatively briefly in at least a few languages, but it's not very descriptive, and we're still talking about pushing the minimum desktop width to use the interface up to 1015px (from 890px) if we do that:

T128573 is related. It has been suggested, for the pop-up, to make it only dismissable after a click on a button, and to only show that button after 5secs or something.
