AWB creates empty pages with {{deadend}} and {{stub}} templates
Open, MediumPublic

Description

By default AWB don't pass non-existent pages if they exist in page list. If there are no internal links to some page, AWB creates it with templates {{deadend}} and {{stub}}, see deleted contribs of ruwiki bot MBHbot. I think that option "Skip - Doesn't exist" should be enabled by default.

Event Timeline

@MaxBioHazard OK, so your request is that by default AWB skips non-existent pages?

We will need to hold a discussion to see if other AWB users think this is a good idea, or whether it would be a bad idea for other scenarios.

It is enough that it didn't create pages to set into it "auto tag/general fixes" templates.

@MaxBioHazard Why not? These are just suggestions. The editor has to press the final save and cn also reprocess before saving to check whether the tags still apply.

AWB do this in full automatic (bot) mode, no one press "save" in this mode.

@MaxBioHazard True that's why in bot mode is recommended to set "skip if does not exist". There same cases that creating new pages is needed because other actions are involved.

Magioladitis, I can't imagine situation in which it would make sense to create blank pages with three templates: {{deadend}}{{orphan}}{{stub}}. So, AWB should not create pages to set into it service templates from "auto tag"/"minor fixes".

If a page is empty, but exists on-wiki, and it is ran, AWB stil try to tag it with autotags. I don't understand your screenshot.
