Over the past years, @PierreSelim, @Lena and me (under the Commonists org barnstar) have worked on tools for analysing collections of media on Wikimedia Commons, program evaluation, etc.
This includes wm-metrics, which also has a Web interface on ToolLabs, its deep backend rewrite MediaCollectionDB, and SurfaceImageContentGap

We should discuss whether work on these tools still make sense or we should discontinue them. Cc @Abit
@Abit : You mentionned you were interested in having a look at such tools. I’d be happy to hear your thoughts about these :)

I had not really planned to work on these things at this hackathon, but since @Abit is here and interested in volunteer tools for program evaluation I figured it was a good opportunity to show her our work. The task name is probably too broad − I don’t think we will make any big decision in the next few days − I’ll rename it.
I presented to @Abit our metrics work for about an hour. No particular decision has been made, this was just a discussion.
