Reverting undiscussed silent close. Visual bug that still needs to be fixed.

I do see the TOC on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Images, at least when viewing on a large screen. On small screens the TOC is not shown in any namespace, with autocollapsed sections being used instead. So maybe this can be closed after all?

(For the Russian example given in the task description, I don't see a TOC on either desktop or mobile sites, and it looks like that's down to the page design)

yes, it's there. This one is a duplicate.

To clarify, I went through the tasks previously closed by LGoto via a silent edit (= without an email to subscribers) and re-opened ones where I definitely know the problem is still there and the task was filed by someone known to me via Russian Wikipedia. There is still more than 50 closed tasks left though, but it is too much work for me to access them all.

(This isn’t exactly a duplicate of a later task, but I obviously have no objections to its closing in this form.)

Could you expand on this? There's no logic in the mobile site that differs from desktop for table of contents, other than the display: none null for mobile resolutions which T147026 tracks getting rid of. What else am I missing?

Nothing, I meant that since it was created earlier, it is not exactly a duplicate :-) Sorry for confusion.
