Change 305184 had a related patch set uploaded (by Xqt):
[L10N] Enable unusedfiles.py at meta-wiki

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/305184

On the gerrit, we are discussing that a command line argument should be added, and necessary, for running this script without notifying the user.

A command line argument would be good as well.

Another problem is the default edit summary is "Bot: images for elimination", however that is not the correct process for files in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UnusedFiles , as many are tagged with {{historical}}

Also, https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:GALILEOArchitecture.sxd&action=edit even has

{{not orphan|[[:Image:GALILEOArchitecture.png]]}}

which unusedfiles does not respect.

There is also a weird condition , preventing processing file pages that include http:// in the page text, which dates back to 2007 (988fcf77) .
